A red fox trotting cycle animation. Do not say it's too fast, it's meant to be fast, it's a fast trot.
Finally! I've been working on this since classes finished. It's not coloured but at this stage I'll give it a short break in case I notice anything wrong about it before I start colouring it up.
I've been wanting to crack that trotting canid action for a long time. It's not perfect but it's definately an improvement from my attempt in 2006!
This will be used in Feritas graphic chat, possibly with less frames or possibly not, we'll see. I'm using it as the blueprint for all the other species walking animations - they will all travel at the same pace that this fox trots. So that's a brisk walk for wolves, a fast scurry for squirrels and a leisurely stroll for dragons.
I have a dog that trots, there's something about this that just makes it seem unnatural. I think its the loss of the bounce in the body it seems unnaturally still if it's trotting that fast. I can't explain it well, I'm sorry about that ;________;
Yeah that makes sense, the body should probably bounce more than this. It's tough getting the balance between a fox's floaty way of motion and something that looks physically realistic =]
